Support Sydney is Aaron Waltman, a senior IT engineer based in Sydney. He started it after watching too many small businesses get treated like a ticket number by providers that never quite fixed the problem. Every review on this page is about him.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about response times, pricing, and how we work.

How fast do you actually respond?
For urgent issues we aim to respond same day, often within a few hours. Managed IT clients jump the queue with priority response. We are on call 7 days a week, including weekends and public holidays.
Which parts of Sydney do you actually cover?
All of it, really — the CBD, North Sydney and the North Shore, Parramatta and Western Sydney, across to the Hills district, and out to the Blue Mountains and down to the Sutherland Shire. No call-out fee inside that footprint, and remote support reaches anywhere in Australia.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. Ad-hoc support needs no contract at all — pay as you go, whenever you need us. Managed IT plans run month-to-month with no lock-in period, so you are free to walk away anytime.
Will I get charged just for you turning up?
No call-out fee for on-site visits anywhere across metro Sydney — from Hornsby in the north to Sutherland in the south. A small travel fee may apply outside that footprint. Remote sessions never carry a travel charge.
Do you need to be on-site, or can this be fixed remotely?
Most issues get sorted remotely via secure remote access — often quicker than waiting for someone to cross the Harbour Bridge. We only come to your office, home or studio when the job genuinely needs hands-on work.
How does a remote support session actually work?
We use Splashtop SOS for secure, attended remote sessions. Download and run the Support App on the device that needs help — it throws up a 9-digit code on screen. Send that code to Aaron and he connects instantly: no account, no install, and you watch everything happen in real time. Close the app and the session is over.
Can I reach you outside normal business hours?
Yes — we are available 7 days a week. For anything urgent outside standard AEST business hours, call 1300 769 337 directly and we will get to it as fast as we can.
What is actually included if I go managed?
Managed IT plans are built around your business, but typically cover proactive monitoring, security patching, antivirus and endpoint protection, email security, cloud subscription management for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, backup verification, priority help desk access, and quarterly strategy reviews — all for one fixed monthly fee.
What does IT support actually cost?
Ad-hoc support is $180/hr (excl. GST), billed with a 1-hour minimum and no call-out fee anywhere in metro Sydney. Prefer a fixed monthly cost instead? Managed IT is a custom flat fee sized to your business. Either way — no hidden fees, no lock-in contracts.
Can you help my team actually use ChatGPT or Copilot properly?
Yes — AI Automation is one of our core services. We set up and integrate tools like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and custom workflows so your team gets real time back, not just a new app to ignore. Document drafting, connecting AI into your existing systems, custom prompts — we handle the setup and the training.
What is the Essential Eight, and does my business actually need it?
The Essential Eight is the Australian Government's cyber security framework — eight controls covering things like multi-factor authentication, application control and patching. Most Sydney businesses should be working toward it; it is the baseline for defending against the threats hitting small business every day. We run Essential 8 audits and help implement the controls at whatever maturity level suits you.
We are on Google Workspace — can you move us to Microsoft 365?
Yes, this is one of the migrations we do most often. Email, calendar, contacts, Drive files, shared drives and permissions — all moved across with a plan to minimise downtime, DNS changes handled, and mail forwarding set up so nothing gets lost.
